Royal Doulton’s Old Factory in Burslem

Published by admin

The old Royal Doulton factory in Nile Street Burslem is gradually decaying away. I presume that sometime soon it will be demolished to make way for another part of the Stoke-on-Trent regeneration. During late summer of 2008 the demolition started. As time goes on more photos of the changes will appear on this page.

The Royal Doulton factory shop is now the Outlet Superstore situated in Festival Park, Etruria.

I can remember going to the factory shop in Burslem not long before it closed.

It was a ruin when I worked there, the only difference now, is the roof is a little bit worse than it was then.

Part of my heart will always be here. I started work there, straight from school in 1976. My father also worked there. Most people who worked there had other family members, school friends and neigbours who also worked there. It was like home.I am so sad that it has gone.
